Welcome to Bordeaux and ISAA 2021. We are very proud to bring this prestigious conference for the first time to France, the largest agrochemical and adjuvant market in Europe.

The Bordeaux area is a world famous wine area and I hope you will take the opportunity to explore the wonderful countryside and indulge in the world famous food and wine.

At ISAA 2021 we have included an educational trip into the programme on the Thursday afternoon which will include presentations in the auditorium from wine experts in both the growing and crop protection of vines. This will be followed by on-site visits to commercial vineyards followed by the informal Conference buffet at CHATEAU GISCOURS.

We have been fortunate to secure the Palais de Congress – a purpose built conference centre with an abundance of hotels within a 5 minute walk and a direct tram service from the conference centre into town (a 10 minute ride costing around 1USD / 1 Euro).

We live in a time of ever increasing pressure on agriculture e.g. demands for bio-renewable and environmentally friendly inputs, reduced packaging, the circular economy and not least feeding the expected population growth.

Additionally, the regulatory demands to bring new technology to market and also defend existing technologies is constantly changing, but always increasing.

Whilst we cannot hope to solve all these issues the ISAA conferences are an integral part in bringing together our industry and academia and making progress together, along this very important path to the future.

We have an outstanding line up of six Keynote speakers as well as a record number of papers and posters which have been submitted to The Scientific Committee.

On behalf of the organising committee may I say how much we look forward to meeting you at ISAA 2021 in Bordeaux from Monday 6th to Friday 10th December 2021.
